BRINGING OLFACTORY GROOVE MENINGIOMA IN DIRECT VISION !
- 30° Neck Extension from the Neutral position, Bicoronal scalp incision, and flap.
- Small Bifrontal Craniotomy in between the two Supraorbital notches.
- Drilling the Frontal bone until it becomes flat and flush with the orbital roof (like Pterional drilling).
- Anterior most ligation and cutting of the superior sagittal sinus will make the dura flat until the frontal floor, bringing the Meningioma into direct view.
- These simple maneuvers will turn this skull base lesion into a feeling of convexity Meningioma for the surgeon.
- Furthermore, drilling the posterior-most part of the planum can make visible the posterior diaphragma sellae extension of this lesion. However, pterional will be a better approach in cases with such an extension.
